The primary design goal is to capture the original intent of the artist and make it available to industry professionals to mimic a one-to-one editing experience with the original artwork, instead of a standardized proxy of the original work. Another design goal is to digitize assets like clothing in a manner that is both accurate and easy for the consumer to edit. Another goal is to provide a modular design and content aware editing features where users can assemble their requirements of tools, effects, and workflows.
Adobe Lightroom is a digital camera image organizer and a RAW image editing tool for photographers. Since its debut, Lightroom has included features that allow the photographer to "Fine-tune and enhance raw photographs as well as organize, edit, and share their images". Adobe Lightroom is marketed as a simple and intuitive software platform, which focuses on bringing out the artistic potential in each user's images. It offers features such as automatic change detection, batch upload, RAW support, image comparison and color correction, and in-camera image editing with RAW conversion. Lightroom is used by many professional and enthusiast photographers for the purpose of post-processing of images and has universal appeal because of its native plug-in support. Adoption of Lightroom in the RAW workflow has been rapid, with over $1 billion in annual revenue generated by Lightroom's raw-worked into Photoshop in 2013.
Adobe Lightroom was first released on July 23, 2003, and is currently available for Windows, macOS, and updated versions of the Web (and via the Android platform as of version 8.1). Adobe also makes Photoshop Lightroom available for iOS, Android, and Amazon Kindle devices, though the ability to preview images on the latter two devices depends on the use of Adobe Content Sync. Android users can view Lightroom images only when sharing them using Adobe Creative Cloud mobile services or when viewing images on a computer using the Adobe Cloud Service. Lightroom Mobile for iOS allows for browsing, downloading, and editing of images, and is available on the Apple App Store. d2c66b5586
