By 1998, the team had finished their prototypes and testing on the SNES version, so the team knew what they wanted to do with Dinosaur Planet. But, as it turned out, the proposal was rejected. However, in a few more years, LucasArts would accept the proposal and the team went back to work on the project. But the team would learn that the project was rejected for being too different from the original.
During the presentation of the game in 2001, they showed off something that would would later be named the Dino Charge. This was the game mode the team had come up with after spending two weeks working on Dinosaur Planet. The mode was a combination of original elements from the original game, such as the story, dialogue, and enemies, mixed with elements from Star Fox Adventures and Star Fox 64.
The team had to work to make the game a success. They had to come up with the graphics and animations required to meet their needs. The team made every effort to improve the graphics of the game, and when it was finally released, it was met with some controversy for being more like the N64 game. But the critics did praise the game for still being a true Rareware game. The team worked on the game for several years, and it was finally released in 2003 on the GameCube.
Titan Quest and its sequel, Titan Quest: Vengeance include a cutscene in which an ancient meteorite crashed on the planet, the remnants of which are now sentient. This would be explained as the remains of an ancient meteorite and the remnants of a dinosaur.
