Two weeks after the Xperia Z5 leaked several more photos of the upcoming Sony Xperia Z5 Premium have surfaced online. These close-up shots give us a better look at the Z5's full-metal body. The new 23MP lens is set to come packaged with Sony's f/1.6 aperture, making it much faster than the 13MP snapper found on the Xperia Z3. An X-Reality filter is also part of the optics for the Xperia Z5 Premium, and we'll probably see this sensor with its own "Professional" mode as well. Like the Xperia Z4, the Z5 Premium is expected to be priced between $629 and $699 when it arrives in stores.
The f/1.7 lens on the Xperia Z5 is a bit less sensitive than its f/1.9 brother found on the Xperia Z4, but you can take better photos with it because of that. It also features a 26mm wide-angle equivalent focal length, which is a bit longer than the 22mm of the Z4's f/2.0 lens. The Xperia Z5 results drastically improved its camera performance to rival those of the Xperia Z4 and Z3 in my camera tests.
The Xperia Z5 Premium is up to 14g lighter than the Xperia Z4, so Sony has managed to improve the build quality with this larger version while keeping the price low. The Xperia Z5 came with a full HD display, a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, and enough storage space for all of your multimedia content. It sold well because the Xperia Z5 arrived in September 2015 and was available worldwide for under $600.
The Xperia Z5 Premium is expected to be released in Japan on February 26, alongside the Xperia Z5, so we can't wait to see Sony's latest flagship at a bigger size. Unfortunately, the Xperia Z5 Premium is only coming to Japan, not the US or Europe. :( So we'll just have to wait until Sony's (hopefully international) Xperia Z5 launches to see what else is in store for us. d2c66b5586
